Philippine Embassy – Canberra

I just got my dual citizenship. I personally went to the Philippine Embassy in Canberra, ACT to have my oath-taking, a requirement to be able to get back Philippine citizenship.

My Oath Taking was scheduled at 10:30AM. As I am coming from Brisbane, QLD, I was an hour early when I arrived at the embassy. This is my first time to travel to Canberra, thus I need to provide some time allocations for any unexpected incidents.

I arrived at the un-manned reception area but an embassy Personnel came to me right away to greetback me and asked how can she help me. I told her “…nandito ako para mag-oath taking…”, she replied with a smile, “…doon po sa baba, kumatok lang po kayo kung sarado…”.

I did exactly how she instructed me. I pressed the door bell and soon I was opened the door and told me that the person in-charge of oath taking will arrive shortly.

I know that I arrived early so I was not too eager. I have my own pocket book to read, the 5th book about Jason Bourne written by another author authorized by the Robert Ludlum estate.

At exactly, 10:30AM, I did my oath-taking officiated by the Vice Consul.

I applied for my passport after that. At last I am a Filipino citizen again.

I want to applaud the efficiency in the embassy. Job well done!!!
